Light

The light entering an area can also include the heat from the sunChoosing the right furnishing will depend on the area of where the furnishing is going to be installed. In turn, the location will dramatically influence your furnishing requirements and obviously the amount of natural light available.

Depending on the direction faced, differing choices can benefit the individual situation.

  • West facing means the afternoon sun and very bright light in summer.
  • East facing means morning sun and less direct light in summer.
  • North facing receives the brightest light in winter.
  • South facing receives minimal direct light year round.

It is also important to consider that direct sunlight usually brings with it heat. This can be comforting in the cooler months but not very welcoming in the Australian summer.
